Hey, I've had several conversations with staff before about factions, and of how staff can't participate in game play. While this makes since, in case of "corruption" it is a deal breaker for applying for staff to many people. I'm sadly still 13, which means I'm to young to apply for staff, but here's the problem, with the "soon" release of beta factions, I would start playing factions and then not want to apply for helper. Well here's the thing, what if staff were given a choice, if they wanted to play factions, then on the factions server they would have their perms taken away, for JUST that server. If they didn't want to play factions, then they would keep their perms, yet not be forbidden to play factions.

P.S. Sorry for any sloppiness or grammar mistakes, I'm writing this on my iPod late at night. :3

I get what you mean with staff possibly wanting to play factions, but I don't think your idea would work...

If a staff that chose to have their perms taken away on factions, was the only staff member online at the time, and there was an incident on factions that had to be dealt with immediately, well we'd be in a bit of a pickle now, wouldn't we?

Now, I'm no staff here, but I'd imagine staff would need to be able to act immediately when there is a problem, or need their perms to be anle to watch potential rule breakers.

I don't know what permissions staff have, all I know is that Zainos can go in creative mode. What about staff can play factions but they can only use normal survival mode like all other players? And if something happens they can go deal with it (? I don't know about other people but it wouldn't be hard for me to not use /gamemode 1 when I have permission for the command. So basically staff can play factions but they can't "cheat"? :p Plus staff should be good at self-controlling and not abuse their powers

This is a good idea, but I believe that corruption was once an influence in factions 1.0. I mean, sure there is good staff who wouldn't abuse, but how do you know they won't suddenly turn? Maybe they start hating the server, and seek revenge. Bans, mutes and kicks can all be undone if a staff suddenly goes corrupt, but if someone destroyed the faction economy or used perms to get into bases, that is very hard, if not impossible to undo.

Well the server backs up itself everyday so. . . Plus staff can abuse powers anytime, if they want to abuse powers in factions, they can. But ofc they won't be staff anymore if they abuse powers

Yeah that's true, any staff out there willing to clarify this conversation up, and say why staff can't play factions?

I say we wait until Factions 2.0 comes out. It will be massively different than Factions 1.0; and Zainos can decide whether the staff will or will not be able to play.

As far as I am concerned, the community has nothing to do with managing the staff, and if staff can't play factions; well, then theres nothing anyone can do about it. Sometimes there is a price you pay for getting something, and maybe not being able to play factions is part of the price of becoming staff.

Staff corruption in Factions 1.0 was a MAJOR problem... so much so that staff had to give up certain permissions when they became staff and were not supposed to join factions. While HHGN's entire staff team has changed and matured, I don't know how Factions 2.0 will handle the issue.

People that become staff know that they wont be able to play factions and if it bothered them enough then they would quit staff. Usually people become staff because they are a little more mature than everyone else and can handle little things like that. But I see your point here. But Imo I don't think its a problem in the first place for staff to play factions. It gives them a chance to show that they are trust worthy, and it is very easy for the owner or the other basically owner, smoke to just check logs if they have a reason to believe a staff is cheating or whatever the reason is behind staff not being able to play. Maybe its favoratism (Sorry if i killed that word lol) I remember Zain telling me why they werent allowed to play but its been so long.. Anyways im sure staff have thought about this problem and if there were any obvious ways to let them play, they would.
