How Can I Download A Mod?

hey guys, so i was thinking about downloading the halo mod, but i have no idea how. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want the mod, and i was wondering if someone could please teach me how on a YouTube video, or in the reply's step by step. I would really appreciate it if someone would help me out! Thx

download and run forge
download the mod and put it in your minecraft mods folder at %appdata%
run minecraft forge in the launcher

Oorrrr if you're old school like me and want an old mod:

Open up the jar of minecraft (Found in .minecraft, then bin)
Open up the jar of the mod
NOTE: Use 7-zip for this or winrar. But I prefer 7-zip
Now, drag and drop all the files from the mod into the minecraft jar
BAM! This works for pretty much all old-school mods
(They have other instructions attached if it is different)
