I'm not sure if it'd work, but there's a way to change your skin, then save the head with that, then you can go back to normal. I'd guess it save the entire skin, but not sure
(This is what I used for the wheels on the rovers in mars mission)

We are already working in something like this, but have in mind that for future Solo Sg suggestions, a valid Minecraft IGN must be provided which permanently has the skin of the suggested character...
