Times change, people sometimes lose interest in the things they once loved, such as Minecraft. Although it may hurt, it was going to happen one day, and it seems that the server isn't as popular as it once was. At least the server has some players, better than none at all.

it's likely that when they feel as if they have enough builders that they'll announce it publicly and close the applications, however i find it extremely unlikely that this will ever be needed

For now I suggest turning your music volume and jukebox/noteblock volume to 0%. This seems to work for me, but I can see where there would be disadvantages in doing that, especially if you want to listen to in-game music.

At the end of every year they will make a playlist listing your most played songs of that year. They can be found in this section (on desktop). EDIT: Don't ask about my Playlist names lol, most of them are at least 6 months old

You can get bots who put deleted and edited messages into logs for Moderators to check. That may resolve the problem too as players may not have thought about screenshotting it but can still report it as long as they know what time the message was sent.
