I think that you should get more while ranking up. The kits don't have to be op, just a enchanted diamond sword with better armor. The kits should come every 2 ranks.
Ex. Private II Rank:
Prot 2 Iron Gear with Sharp 2 Sword.

The main kit unlocked system is through gaining coins and purchasing kits. So, a rank is more representative of how many kills you have, and that should translate into better kits you can unlock.

I think the system is pretty good as is with a few unlockers, but mainly based on the kills and coins you earn
