    The iron golem attacks when attacked, just use your ability in the middle of fight and you will see that once your enemy hit the iron golem, it will begin attacking him. You can opt for keep attacking your target from your golem or dismount and attack separately

    I'm sorry but this is how Vanillia Minecraft works. Anyway, you can still reach the guy because Ender Pearls is an available power up, just get it from the floor when it spawns and use it to teleport to the troll/camper and kill him :)
