As a spectator, you can pretty much block projectiles (Arrows, Enderpearls and so on.)
I had a blast filming this

It is a minecraft bug, that's why a lot of popular you tubers have several videos where spectators protect them or block their shots because spectators are players that are vanished

This is the exact reason spectator mode was added in 1.8 snapshots. LOL :shock:
